I’ve had this problem for a while but this is the first time i’ve seemed help for it. Under my penis is always very moist and the skin there is always peeled and is red and raw. This problem is not from masturbation because I have went without it for a week and nothing changed.

Hi, sounds like balanitis have it checked with your GP or you could get some over-the-counter cream from your chemist.

It is probably balanitis - yeast infection. It is some kind of fungal infection and your bod reacts to it. I am circumcised as adult and never expected to get it as circumcised but I did.

Directly a month and few weeks ago. At first I expected it to go away (didn't know what it is, just had dry cracked skin on my shaft).

At the end (after one month of not having sex nor masturbation) I went to my doctor, and he said "it is probably yeast infection - buy Canesten creme".

It is creme for women with yeast infection on vaginal area and unisex for athlet's foot yeast infection. I put it on my penis three times a day, and already after three day I see it leaving. I'm healing.

So, I'd recommend you to buy creme for yeast infection and rub it on.

If it’s red and raw then then you need to be very careful with what you put on it as you risk infection and permanent damage. Consider this before opening your kitchen cupboard or bathroom cabinet seeking quack remedies.

If you’re in UK my recommendation is to visit your local Sexual Health Clinic and seek professional help, they see hundreds of such symptoms and will advise accordingly (and give you free meds). This is without disclosure to your GP unless you request that.

I’m not medically trained however I did experience similar sounding symptoms for over 20 years and tend to concur with others on this thread, it may be Candida/fungal related that’s escalated into balanitis. Antifungal creams may help and maybe only at first.

You say that your skin is “always moist” and that could be a clue. In my case I realised that fungus thrives in warm, moist conditions and that I might gain relief by removing those conditions temporarily. Sure enough, leaving my foreskin retracted for as long as possible/practical to keep it dry worked well and was far quicker and more effective than all the Canestan, Daktarin, topical steroids, live yogurt etc. remedies I’d tried and best of all, didn’t feel slimy as though I’d messed myself down there.
