Hi, I’m no estrogean gel and progesterone tablets, but they don’t seem to be helping with my very low mood and anxiety. Someone has suggested I try the patches instead. Does anyone have any experience with this please? Much appreciated.

Estrodial gel
🙂 It could be a case of ‘trial and error’
Some patches and tablets contain both estrogen and a progestogen. These combination patches and tablets can be useful for some women who wish to have a simple HRT regime. However, the patches only come in one strength which limits the ability to individualise the estrogen dose to relieve symptoms.
Estrogen is usually started as a patch or a gel. Patches come in strengths from 25 to 100 micrograms permitting the correct starting dose to be selected for each woman. The gel (pump can be used 1-4 measures daily, or sachets, usually 1-2 daily) dose can easily be adjusted if symptoms are not controlled.
It could be that you're not on enough estrogen or that the progesterone doesn't suit you. When I took utrogestan I felt extremely tired and depressed although it is bio identical but feel OK on the combined patches. You could try a different progesterone.
Hi Corrine, Thankyou for replying to my post. I’ve got an appointment to see the doctor soon and I’ll definitely mention the patches. You’re the 3 person to recommend them to me and they’ve all said that they help. Thank you again.
