HRT/ UAT

hi there, I have been prescribed hrt. I also have UAT and hashimotos. I have so far been too frightened to take hrt. I have been prescribed oestrogen gel and progesterone tablets. I have a number of friends who upon taking this regime had spotting/bleeding . The one and only benefit of menopause is no periods! The thought of this is putting me off as well as all the usual fears however my brain fog is off the scale and getting worse. A year ago my oestrogen level was 37 which I gather is very low. Would anyone share their experience if they are using oestrogen gel and progesterone tablets please. X

Hi there I’m still having periods but they came when they wanted too the gel is great rub in your arms or thighs. You may get some settling in bleeds but that’s because you are getting oestrogen back in your body, it should take about 3 months, I believe that because you don’t have periods any more you can take progesterone (utrogestan) continuously but take it as your doctor has prescribed at first. If you have Facebook there is a great group on there The HRT Truth Collective lots of info there
