I've had 2 good days in a row so far with only mild headaches, still having phono phobia (difficulty with loud sounds), tiring easily, but have had relatively good energy and my photophobia is getting better (difficulty with lights). I hadn't taken any narcotics for pain relief in approximately one week but had a bad day 3 days ago which required one dose. Tylenol has been a staple as ibuprofen is a no-no. I recommend keeping a daily diary to keep track of your activity tolerance, sensitivities, medication dosing, sleep requirements, and any other symptoms or changes in symptoms. This has helped me see my progress and it helps me when I get down to remind me that things are indeed getting better. Time takes time. I'm not a "patient" patient. This requires some encouragement and a diary helps. Reading the posts here helps to remind me that there may be good days & bad days. Trying not to get my expectations too high when I have a good day is tough too; I had a great day on Tuesday this week, had a bad Wednesday & spent time crying & feeling sorry for myself on Wednesday (which is allowed for goodness sake) because of it. Yesterday I was able to empty the dishwasher, do laundry (I split loads in half to make it more manageable), my son brought lunch over which was fabulous so I had a brief (only about 40 minutes) visit with him, had a few short phone conversations with friends, and took the dogs for a 10 minute walk after dusk. Best day by far with no pain medication whatsoever! I still had mild aches & pains in my head & neck but none which required medication. It's VERY important that I drink as many fluids as possible, get LOTS of sleep at night, wind down before bed as I seem to be "hyped up" more than before, and REST between any activity. I can't spend too much time on the computer without a break either. Today is starting out great too. Keep the hope my friends. One day at a time!!
