hello,

When I had aseptic meningitis 12 years ago, they gave me all the antibiotics. A whole wide range of them and I spent about 10 days in the hospital recovering and another 6 months after that trying to feel normal.
Sorry not a lot of help, I know.
i was back to "work" in a about 3 months but did not truly "work" much for a year.
Mostly symptom free now. I get bad headaches with a sneeze now and occasionally get starburst headaches that go away within a few minutes.
did you have bacterial aseptic meningitis?
Yes. The Dr.s never identified the bacteria. One culture came back very bad indeed but they concluded it had to be a contaminated sample because if I had that I would have been dead.
was it chronic aseptic meningitis?
no.
first and only time i have ever had meningitis.
the only symptom i had was an excruciating headache that would not respond to advil or tylenol and I had it for two weeks but had been taking a z-pak of antibiotics during the same time frame for a sinus infection. So the z-pak slowed the progress of the meningitis.
I take it you're looking for treatment protocols, however I would ask if there's been investgation to the cause? My son had repeating meningitis, and we eventually isolated it to a very unique CSF leak behind his sinuses.
How is the bug getting in?
Wishing you the very best.
Like MFMauceri writes about their son, I also had/have recurrent meningitis and it was identified as coming from a CSF leak behind the sinuses.
My cases were caused by pneumococcal bacteria which I believe is the usual type of bacteria causing recurrent meningitis from a CSF leak in the sinuses.
Again, wishing you the best for sorting this out.
There are quite a few supplements that assist in inflammation. I actually asked ChatGPT and it spit out quite a few.
One molecule to consider that is by RX is low dose Naltrexone. You can get it through AgelessRx. It was one of the first line things ChatGPT suggested for post meningitis syndrome. I’ve only recently started it.
Tumeric , Omega 3 fatty acids, Boswellia Serrata, Quercetin, Resveratrol, Green Tea Extract, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin D, Lion’s Mane (Neuro Genesis and Nerve repair),
Beta Glucan (immune system modulator)
Some people will take Ceterizine (Zyrtec), if it’s Mass Cell related inflammation.
I don’t believe there are supplements that specifically cross the BBB that are antibiotic in nature though.
