Postponed for now

So an update about Ryan,

The craniotomy had to be postponed. His red blood cell counts tanked for unknown reasons unfortunately. We are currently looking for a GI bleed. We did an endoscopy that turned up clean and normal. But his RBC has continued to drop. He got 2 full bags of condensed RBCs for a transfusion cause he was down to heart attack levels. For now he is improving; he’s not as tired, heart beat has gone back to normal. (His heart was pounding for absolutely no reason) and he was getting dizzy and lightheaded. All symptoms of low RBCs.

So now, we are waiting on a call for him to get a colonoscopy and another type of endoscopy. We will be looking through the small and large intestines.

He lost 6 units of blood, and I have no concept of where it could be going. No bloody stool, no bloody urine, no abdominal pain. I’m just lost as to where this lost blood is going. So hopefully we will have answers soon. I think we should be doing more blood tests to see if it could be auto immune related because of all the long term medicines he’s been on. Wouldn’t be surprising if his body just simply isn’t producing red blood cells fast enough. But what do I know.........

Craniotomy will happen as soon as he is cleared by oncology and deemed safe.

But for now that’s all I have as an update.. love to all ❤️

Kelly, bummer to hear the craniotomy had to be postponed, but it will happen soon, but really sorry to hear Ryan is losing RBC’s so quickly. I’m glad the transfusion made him feel better. So do they think the body is absorbing it? Prayers for you both.

Kelly, any news as to where the bleeding comes from?

My husband had a haemolytic anaemia , autoimmune, as a side effect of the medications, so if you want to know about that I could help you out. Just let me know.

Thinking about you guys a lot <3

We haven't found it yet. He has no symptoms of any kind of GI bleed at all. We got the endoscopy done, it was clean. And he is getting a colonoscopy and a GI capsule done. It got postponed because he ended up in the ER the night before the procedure. Neuro related issues. But after the transfusion he got the RBC's look good. Not at an AWESOME level, but def exceptable. I would love to hear more about the anemia because I am just not convinced of the bleed. Me and a few other of our close friends also believe that it is auto immune related but I can't seem to get his Oncology team there yet. Of course I know they are being aggressive, but it could JUST be the side effects of medications.

Please if you have any info, message me :)
