I just need support for my major depressive disorder and need peer support. Having trouble joining. That depression just envelops me sometimes like a spider web and its hard to fight my way out.. I deal with it sometimes by just going to bed early. Focusing on a to do list also helps.
Any ideas for coping?

I used to sleep more than I was awake, it became so addictive because I could just shut off.. sometimes.. Now I try to have a show going for background noise. Defonic (spelling?) is recommended by the SC crisis chat, it's for background noise. I got a mindfulness x-word, and an adult coloring book. I've only done one page, but even getting it, made me feel really nice. If mones is an issue I bet their some stuff online too, I knew someone who had a similar app.
Maybe one of those could help, a weighted blanket, w/tea or coffee, and a show, book, music, etc?
Could you tell more about the mindfulness x-word and adult coloring book? I think I need them for my situation but could not find them on the Google search result. Thank you so much!
I feel the same… would love to get some support for what feels like a never ending cycle. I journal, read a lot of self help books, listen to podcasts, pray and meditate… looking for an in person support group now..
I completely get the” just going to bed” strategy of dealing with depression every day. To me depression is just effing exhausting sleep seems like such a great alternative, but it’s also the hallmark of being depressed. My mind somehow tells me to just get this day over and go to bed somewhere in there though see one percent hope. That one percent tells me that if I go to sleep now, I’ll wake up tomorrow and maybe, just maybe, tomorrow will be better.
