Severe Depression

I 46 I am unable to get put of bed. I am a caregiver for my mom. I am scared to take a shower and my life is falling apart. I am on meds and making me worse I told doctor and been to hospital. I feel helpless. Please help me.

Hello and Welcome. Please use the link that Sillysausage234 provided. Repost your message there. That site is so much more active. There are people posting all day every day. You can read through the posts, reply, get to know people, private message people. You will be able to get a lot of support. I know how much this site helped me when I was having a hard time getting out of bed. Over time I actually started looking forward to getting up and getting on the site to connect with people. You have found a wonderful support group. I hope you will take full advantage of it and get the support you need. Please let me know if you want to talk to me.

Well, I understand how you feel. The feet just don't find their way to the floor. One thing I have learned is to get up with the full intention to move to the couch. If I can do that... I turn on the TV. For me, it creates a "ramp" of sorts to get into the day.

a hospital can be helpful to give you some rest and try the anti depressive meds and anti anxiety med; sometime we have to hit a low to come back up. good luck and be brave and et yourself be helped
