Very depressed

Im in supported housing program. Ive only recently come to realize that the people who run these programs care nothing for people in them. Between the program and the landlord their treatment of me has left me depressed an hopeless.

I am so sorry Max2012 you are going through this. I know right now at least where I live housing is dire and it seems the landlord has the upper hand. It can be so challenging living in public housing and so stressful. . I have came across a lot of difficult landlords and people that just seem burnt out in their jobs. Are there any other housing programs you can apply too to give you other options? Do they have a section 8 voucher you can apply for? Maybe senior living housing? I hope things get better soon for you.

I lived in low income apartment for Artists for six years in California. It was a horrible experience. The other tenants were rude and unfriendly. The Property Management had to audit my income every year to make sure I was poor. Finally a psychotic tenant started accusing me of making noise at night. I was asleep! He wouldn't leave me alone . I had enough and moved to another state to be near my sister.

The truth is they don't care. It's not in their job description. It's business, so when you deal with them don't get emotional it is all about math and money. My advice is if things get really screwy, start keeping notes so if for some reason things become confrontational you can address the issues. add dates and times.

Im doing that now. when things got screwy the last time I was all over the place and could barely think. They made a show of trying to help me because I got other people involved and they took steps to cover their a__es.

I keep a journal. They arent paying attention right now. They know i had a break down. They saw what a wreck i was. I just get the feeling they are bidding their time till they can give my apt to someone else.
