Great idea. I see a lot of people go over to the Bridge to 10k forum post C25K and pretty much stay there, even completing 10 miles, HM, triathlons and all.
Do you think the fact that this forum is called 'Marathon Running and Race Support', as opposed to 'Race Support and Marathon Running', or just 'Race Support' might put a few off? Just a thought.
yes it scares the &*%^ out of me! I still don't feel comfy posting on here for that reason, so just popping on to say that a 16K target seems (possibly) achievable & I could see myself aiming for this once I've taken a break after the 10K on Sunday
Not really..I just think it's a great idea..and it is just brilliant to see all the folks on here doing amazing things..and they do, do amazing things..π
Maybe we all need little treats sometimes... Mr OF has bought me an early birthday gift, just because I am going to do a HM!
A new Garmin.. which I really do need to learn to use...!!!! I forgot about the heart rate thing and put the watch over my jacket where it was moving around quite a lot.. the HR results were hilarious!!!
He told me today... as I got a personal best for a mile.. that it was because this watch is lighter than the other one!!! π
You would have such a long list of badges after your name... there wouldn't be room for them all
Great idea, gives me an intermediate target to aim for, just a thought but has there ever been thought to turning our HU virtual bling into the real thing? Donβt want to put any more burden on you wonderful and inspiring admin folk, but maybe you could partner with one of the existing virtual race companies who do produce actual bling? I wear my βgraduate of C25k Programme shirt with pride, be good to add to that with a medal etc.
Nice idea, but for this forum I would say no, because part of our main focus is for folk to run in actual races, where they will get medals. Virtual medals are much better for the planet π Also, as we are not associated with a training programme in the manner of C25K, we do not have "graduates" as such. If the HM plan becomes a regular thing it will be an add-on to this forum, not the other way round. xx
Great idea, it's seems a big jump from 10k to HM I'm working my way to half marathon and did a 10 mile run a couple of weeks ago that I am chuffed to bits with π A badge would make it even better. Thanks πββοΈπ₯π
