It's a lovely article!
Cmoi and Irishprincess an alternative blurb for this forum, we've “no problem with people chasing times, but let’s also talk about what else we value about running.” 😍
It's an interesting article, saw it yesterday but was too embroiled with weekly chat thread to think about posting it, so thanks Dexy5
While, as you'd expect, I very much favour the idea that running isn't just about who can go fastest, the article's perspective is still pretty narrow. It focuses on road races and parkruns, and seems to take for granted that measurement is an integral part of running.
Not so. If you're really not bothered about times and pace (or distance, elevation, heart rate or whatever) then don't use a watch or any other timing or recording device. It's still a run, isn't it?
Great article. Thanks for posting Dexy.
Enjoyed reading that thankyou Dexy5 😁 I quite often backmark myself at club nights, like it says it much more fun at the back having a chat and enjoying the scenery. I think my days of chasing PBs are pretty much over , and slower running is great for fitness too! Xxx
