Hi Cmoi and other VRBs, I am making sure that I am in time for this one and not like the very lasts seconds for June 😅. I have just the one run lined up so far and its a half marathon in Kilkee County Clare runkilkee.ie/. It's on the west cost of Ireland and is meant to have stunning views of the coast. My wife is coming with me for a couple of nights away so we will be site seeing as well. Apart from that, I will be mainly concentrating on my marathon training plan.
I did it for the first time last year, there were 2 choices, 5K & 10K, I opted for the 10K race. The first half was wonderful, all round Cambridge, through King's college grounds, with families and dogs and loads of people all having great fun. The second part went out along the river, a route I do most days, so nothing special for me, and hardly anyone continuing past the first bit, so a bit lonely!
Guess which distance I've signed up for this time? Yup!! 5K!!
Hi, Im doing the Heckington 10 miler on Sat 29 July. The 10 Mile Road Race is held as part of the annual Heckington Show and is the oldest race in the midlands (apparently)
The race starts at 9.00am on Saturday 29th July, hoping its not too hot with a nice early start.
Thanks, has another practice run today, got to get used to running in the heat and humidity again. We just don't get enough of that weather usually in the UK, and especially in the county I live, it always seems to be windy or cold, so when we do get a week of heat, we all all struggle!🥵
ooh I forgot before the Heckington 10 miler at the end of July, I also have the 10Km race for Life in Lincoln on 15th July. Forgot all about that one!!😂😂
Hi Cmoi I’m taking part in a 5 mile event over the water, from Liverpool, in Birkenhead Park next Wednesday 19th. A few of my fellow running club members are also taking part and after completing a 10k event last Sunday I feel confident about this one 😊
