Hello Linda, UpTheStanley , Oldgirlruns and I will be running the Exbury Gardens 10k on 24th June.
It starts off in the beautiful gardens in the New Forest and we then run down country lanes to Lepe on the coast and back again. We will also get free entry to the gardens afterwards.
It will be an early morning alarm as it starts at 9.00!
Hi Linda. Iβll be doing the Exbury Gardens 10k on 24th June too! Really looking forward to meeting up with the Southsea crew ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈπββοΈππΌββοΈ
Just the one for us Linda. Katnap and I are doing the Two Castles Run on 11th June, a 10k race between Warwick and Kenilworth castles. Very pretty but a bit hilly!
I know Linda! Butβ¦itβs not all that it seems: weβve got Amsterdam marathon training starting and then a rather special holiday for our kittens. That will include a run around a very large park in a very large, restless city π π
Youβll have to do the Winter Series then HH! Mind you, I donβt think our hills will be enough for you after your Three Peaks Challenge! All the best ππͺπͺ
11th June I will be joining a few local (and some not so local) HU runners at the 2 Castles 10k. Www.two castles run.org.U.K.
Then on the 18th June it is the big one for me. The BHF London to Brighton Sportive. Iβm less worried about the distance and even the huge hill, more worried about avoiding the thousands of other cyclists also taking part. Iβve done a few Sportives before but never one as big as this! Www.BHF.org.U.K.
Oh my, is it known for congestion? Ride the night London set off in waves so it really wasn't too bad once you got beyond the first few kilometres. Bon courage!!!
Katnap and I did it five years on the trot in the 1990βs. It was very congested but we never had any big problems. Maybe since Covid theyβve found ways to manage this better π€
Hi Linda I've got my annual go at the Needles HM! I'm getting slower each year but really love this one! Extremely out of practice but will trot round. Xxx 11th June!
you might have this one already in the diary but in case you haven't i'll be wombling along to this great half on june 11th ... out from swansea city centre through to the mumbles and back to the city along the coast path ... lets just says the view out from swansea bay is not too bad
Hello Linda, As you may remember I have been beset with injuries for too long (mainly knee and hamstring). I ran in the Duffield 5 (My Garmin gave 8.34km and171m elevation gain) in 2019. I really enjoyed it. 2020 cancelled because of Covid and I couldn't join in in 2021 or 2022 because of injury. I have now reached 8.5km and 278m elevation gain, so should be able to complete the run if I manage to not aggravate my knee or hamstring for the next 3Β½weeks, but still feel that striding out isn't allowed. π Just an easy pace, but I think that it will be hard to maintain that on the second half which is mainly downhill. I feel full of butterflies even thinking about it!
I really do not feel like the boss. π But at the moment I shall keep trying. I feel that I have been doing physio for one body part or another for ages and ages. A first load when I couldn't walk after my fall and then 14 further months since my flare up in April 2022. Such it is, but I shall keep trying.
Hi Linda, if all goes to plan,π€ I will be doing the RunWisborough 10k in Wisborough Green, West Sussex on June 11th. A lovely, village event I have run twice before. π
Hi Linda, Iβm entered in the Worthing Open on 13th (100m) and the next round of the Sussex Vets League on 14th in Eastbourne (100m). The way things are at the moment I may well cancel and focus on building back some strength after this pesky covid has finished with me.
I'll put you on the list and you can let us know if you change your mind. Whatever you decide though, I hope covid leaves you unscathed so you can be right back at your training π€
This is run around a village just north of Leicester in the evening. It is sponsored by a local financial services company who cover all the costs meaning that 100% of the entry fee goes to a local hospice called LOROS. I don't expect to be quick because there are hills!
Then on 18th June I'll be running the Sandringham HM
This course is on the King's Sandringham estate in West Norfolk consisting mostly of trails and grassy fields. I ran it last year and found that running on fields was a real killer to my legs. I must be crazy to be doing it again.
Hi Linda, I'm taking part in the Port Sunlight 10k on Sunday 11th. It's a flat course through the planned model village, built for workers at the Lever Brothers factory. I wonder if there'll be a bar of soap in the goodie bag? btrliverpool.com/port-sunli...
