Well given I have a couple of injures, I intended to do a nice flat 10km today, then a couple of my running buddies suggested a last hill and trail run before our massive challenge next weekend, so 9.30 this morning, that's exactly what we did, me in my HM running bib, feeling like a 'real runner!" πŸ˜€

Those inclines were still tough and seemed to go on forever and then we decided to go outside the country park and onto the road for some of the run and then got a bit lost but eventually found our way back in!! πŸ˜‚

Finished it in 1Hr 14 which for a hill and trail run I was quite pleased with. Thanks again to everyone who had a part in organising and taking part in this brilliant virtual event. Hope you all had a great time!!!

It was tough but I guess nothing company to how big they will be on sat!!How are you, has the face gone back to normal now? Apart from the horrible illness you had, was everything amazing??

linda9389 profile image

My face looks almost normal although still a bit swollen and, oddly, lots of nerve damage which hopefully will heal! It was a great trip though, if a bit stressful!!! πŸ˜€

Good to hear you're on the mend. You're a super woman though, how you managed to get through all that stress and worry and still be part of organising the HU event , well you should be very proud of yourself!!πŸ™Œ

And the reason I was in Canada in the first place was to help during my father's two eye surgeries and delayed my return from Tuesday to Saturday (hence missing the date of the HUHM10K). Add in that, just before I left, we struck a deal to sell a plot of land (which should complete today) - involving middle of the night solicitor calls on account of the time difference and that now home, I am desperately trying to rescue trees and plants before I no longer have access...

I don't think I have been this stretched or stressed in a very long time. I daredn't stop right now as I'll not get going again πŸ™ˆπŸ™ƒ

OMG, no wonder you were poorly, that was your body telling you to slow down!!

Well done! Thats a great run.Sounds familiar though. I'd planned a flatter route large on the road and hoped to go early before the traffic started up. In the end I was so late I ended up doing a trail run with much more elevation and challenging terrain. My legs did not like it one bit.

Thank you, think my legs are getting a bit more used it, atleast yesterday I could walk up and down the stairs, which is definately an improvement as, I couldn't walk down a couple of weeks ago after running around the peak district!!πŸ˜‚

Well done! Great time for a hilly run! Love the number too- I forgot to print mine and remembered as I was on the first hill - it would have been a conversation starter for the few people I saw!

it was funny, as when I was asked where the other runners where, I laughed and said 'oh somewhere behind me!!'πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
