I was lucky enough to be invited to join Couchpotato2 for today's run in Tim's memory.
I had wanted to run a HM this month and time was running out, so I ran a half today in two parts.
The first 13.5k I ran alone, reflecting on so many things relating to my running journey and the part Mr Truffe played in it. Two memories in particular stood out:
⭐The day he told me I was a runner my head and heart swelled! Of course I didn't quite believe him, but it was SO nice of him to say so 😍
⭐Then there was the day I realised I was running in public, no longer hiding away - the day I realised that even I thought I was enough of a runner to be seen. My post is here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...... But the best thing of all was a very approving reply from Mr Truffe (even as I wrote the post, I knew he would be pleased)
For me, that's what Tim stood for - running and self belief, and the pure joy they bring.
The second half of my run with CP2 was a celebration of running, of camaraderie, of the benefits of a conversational pace, of absorbing the beauty around us. Just as Tim advocated.
Thank you Tim for the very important part you played in my personal running journey. Your inspiration and guidance were extraordinary.
Your selfless dedication to this forum will be your legacy and I am truly heartened that so many people have come together today in celebration of all you so willingly gave us 💙
Edit: I had to smile as I climbed the ****ing stile and went through at least two ****ing gates

Great post from you Linda 9389, Tim must have spent hours writing those long posts adviseing runners on those forums, I remember three sayings he had for new and experienced runners, ". congratulations fellow runner " when they graduated from C25K to new runners "Essential Reading" and of course "keep running keep smiling" he will be sadly missed on all those forums he was on..
Lovely post, he certainly did know ‘da truffe’ and that he was willing to share it to support us is so very evident in the innumerable posts of gratitude today
Linda that sums it up so well, I've never read so many positive posts, we were all encouraged and inspired by Tim, his memory will live on in every runner here
Yes, he was there for so many of us and it's been lovely to read all the posts, I've never read so many in a day, so many memories from so many people joined by their love if running
How lovely to be able to do your Tim’s run in both solitude and company. It sounds wonderful and a fitting tribute to a special man who will be much missed ❤️
Wonderfully put Linda, the patience and time Tim gave to helping new runners get the best from their experience was boundless. He made us all feel special.
Fabulous running from you in his honour yesterday.💜
I don't often look back at my old posts ... but it's so easy to forget how far I've come since those early, decidedly shaky days where HU support, like that from Tim, made such a huge difference 🥰
