Well, I managed an early 11k today - my aim was to beat the warmish weather, but in all honesty I could have had a little lie in as the temperature wasn’t all that different between when I started and when I finished. A nice breeze though 😊.
I used my brand spanking new running belt which holds a nice sized bottle and has a little ish pocket. So I popped some Belvitas in there and off I went. I was worried I’d find it a bit annoying but I got used to it quickly and so much cooler than a vest!
Anyway, not much to report really. Everything looks very dry and yellow at the moment. We really need some rain ☔️! I remembered for once to run along the edge of a field which runs parallel to the woods - great views but very flinty and rocky underfoot. A very earnest looking hiker lady was at the top of the field arms outstretched and smiling. I think she was literally embracing the view 🤣. Anyway, I had to run past her and said good morning. She did look rather funny.

Thank you linda9389 😊. Yes, I don’t know why I didn’t go down the belt route before really. Much nicer - I get a super sweaty back in the vest even in cooler weather, yuck! Only had the one coffee but it may be time for another soon! ☕️☕️☕️
Nice Sunday run for you Frenc.. glad your new belt was comfortable..It took me a while to get used to mine..but much better than bulging pockets 🤣👍Hope it's a day off and a relaxing afternoon 🙂
My daughter and I done some yoga on a hilltop recently and had some strange stares 🧘♀️🧘♀️🤣
Thanks Sparky. Deffo better than the vest 😁. That sounds like good fun doing yoga on a hill with your daughter! I remember seeing people doing all sorts exercise-wise during lockdown. They took their kettlebells, boxing gloves, anything really, and did it all in the open! Mind you every time someone mentions yoga I think must do more! Hope you are well 😊😊😊.
Coffee is my favourite post run reward (you might have guessed from my profile picture)! I quite often plan routes to end at nice coffee shops and then sit down in lovely surroundings while looking like a tomato, sweating and breathing heavily. Lovely! I like it when I meet my husband at the end because he can bring a towel and some clean clothes.
That looks like a nice run. Lovely pictures. So much nicer to be out now the weather has changed.

Wonderful run Frenc! Everything is soooo brown and dry at the moment isn’t it? Our lawn has barely grown since I last mowed it 11 days ago. Usually we come back from holiday to find a jungle, but not this time.
Another post run coffee here! I don’t drink it at home, always preferring tea, but after a run coffee is the best. You deserved yours for sure! 👊
Thanking you Cheeky! Ha ha never thought I’d be actually wanting it to rain. We have a festival just outside town coming up so what’s the bet there’s monsoons for that 😁. I hope your post run coffee was good - I’m sure it was! 😊😊😊
Post run coffee is definitely the best. I stop at the same cafe on nearly every run. It is a small walkway cafe on the edge of the woods, so walkers and cyclists abound, as well as runners….so turning up a bit sweaty is ok. There is lots of outdoor seating too. Sometimes I reflect on my run, other times I just chat to whoever is in there. I guess that we are all on the same mission, a bit of “me” time which we are happy to share with fellow devotees of the art of post exercise chilling. 🙂
That cafe sounds lovely. Nice and relaxed and full of like minded people. There’s a similar one quite near me but my routes don’t take me by it, so coffee chez moi is generally all that’s on offer! Thank you 😊.
No; just older runners aches and pains! One had resorted to cycling….but he thinks that it has made his problem worse. He got out for jog today though. We oldies just have to be a bit more careful.
Well I think you are in pretty fine fettle Beachcomber66 😊! I hope your cycling friend finds a solution too. What a great place this café sounds, kind of like the barbers for active folk.
In another 10 years I will be like one of those mature Corsican gentleman, chatting over a glass of pastis! I could start a boule club! Always looks to me like a leisurely game with just a hint of inner venom under the surface 🙂

After each run, stretches and a shower, I make a coffee using a Moka pot. I then sit on the patio and drink it, listening to Radio 3. Incidentally, I run listening to Radio 3 on my headphones.

Hi@Frenc, yes, very dry up here too. We had a bit of rain yesterday and I could almost hear the garden groaning with relief!
We set off to France tomorrow for three months in our motorhome and I enjoy running both on the way and when we arrive in Burgundy. The roads are very quiet and scenery lovely too. Keep safe.
Bonne route Vragtes ! Burgundy looks slightly less hot than where I am in the Massif Central. We've now had three months of exceptional temperatures and restrictions are in place because of the drought.
Ah thank you OF! I’ve only used it once and I am a convert, I really am. I froze some water in the bottle then topped it up for lovely cold water during the run! I may go all posh and add some chopped fruit to the water before I freeze it next time! 🍉 🍎 🍊 🍌
lovely pics! I love my running belt I usually forget its there, and its only a cheapie one from Amazon. Know what you mean about the post run coffee. I get my coffee machine on as soon as Ive had a long run and yep, it always taste so much better!! 😁
Thank you Hedgehogs123 ! It really tastes the best after a run, doesn’t it. I just sit there and sort of zone out feeling that all’s right with the world 😊. It’s a rare moment of calm really. That sounds like an excellent belt if you forget about it!
Now his and hers machines sound SO civilised! I’m afraid all I have is a little cafetière. I aspire to one of those very expensive bean to coffee machines! Ah me, one day 😁.
OH bought me a Nespresso machine 😍. Then not long after he was gifted a big Miele machine by someone who was getting a posh plumbed-in version. The Miele is the business 😀☕️🥰
Oh I totally agree Katnap 😁. Although it’s usually my OH I witter to and bore him SENSLELESS with my route, my stats, how many other runners I saw, the temperature, the wildlife, the lousy drivers - you get the picture 🤣. Bless him.
