Well that was fun - fantastic support from the crowds and meeting up with the Team afterwards. The only down side (a big one) was the walking to transfer buses. I clocked up 2 hrs of walking (129 mins to be exact) on top of my run segment! I felt sorry for those who had run the full marathon and then had a 25 minute walk to get the transfer bus back into Edinburgh...
But it was a great experience and I am now full of takeaway!!!

Congratulations on your run today Fionamags, that's a lovely medal 🥉 you have, that's ridiculous that the runners have to walk 25 minutes and in your case 129 minutes to transfer buses, it reminds me of some of the parkruns,(I have seen on YouTube) - not the ones I go to-, that after the runners cross the finishing line, there's a 5 minute walk to get scanned, well done on your run today 🏃🏾 👍.
Well done! I did that HM a few years ago.......yes if we’d known more about the local transport we’d have taken the train back to the city centre? There was a station right next to where we had to get the buses.....would have been far quicker (and cheaper....) - and less draining on the legs - especially afterwards....
Oh well, funny you should say that there's a wee 10k here in Auchterarder in September with the local RC, open to all. I have tentatively entered with many misgivings 😱😱🤣. Have a look.
Well done. Great effort by everyone. We managed to jump on a Lothian Buses bus on Pinkie Road. All a bit disorganised, but there was a chap from the bus company keeping everyone informed on which buses to get. The prospect of walking up to Wallyford was not appealing at all, so we hadn't bothered with the over-priced transfer buses.
I wish we had known about public transport options. The event transfers were a waste of money right enough. Buses stopped way too far from where we were meant to be and there were no stewards about to give directions.
