Ooh my goodness such a glorious morning for itβοΈ
I can't believe how good that was.. really really enjoyed myself so much, can't wait to find out how everyone got on πππββοΈπ½πββοΈ
I started out early at 8am..ooh how I wish I had worn my gloves!
First 5k starts round a nature trail which was a bit of a muddy leaf covered route
My hands were so frozen for the first 6/7K It was hard to think of anything else π«
But I felt good , legs felt strong.. as I crossed over to my lake run at 6K I stopped for my first drink and had to massage some movement into my hands, they were numb!
But sun and body heat was beginning to help now and I really started to enjoy the run immensely.. thoughts if cheekychipmonks , thinking we had set out at roughly the same time and wondering how many others had started out now.. π
Yes HU let's go ... Woo woo..we are all running together.. amazing π
Feeling really strong as I took to the roads for the next 3K to my next trail..
I'm at 11K now and wondering why it's all feeling so good??? Big smile on my face , enjoying the lovely scenery, the fact we all running together.. cheering us on.. come on HU we got this, we are doing it! ππββοΈπββοΈπ½ Keep it up π
My first year Runniversary was yesterday and I just kept thinking how amazing it is to have come so far this past year and how good I feel in myself, proud.. buzzing!!!
Another drink stop at 16K and still surprised at how good I'm feeling ππ
Counting down the K's and half to push through a tough couple at 18/19.. but then I know it's not long now till I'm back on the road to the finish line!!
On the road to the finish line woop woop.. feeling strong I push a bit faster thoughts of a hamper gift my wonderful daughter sent me yesterday to celebrate after this achievement today π
And I'm over the line!!
Yessss!! πββοΈππ π
Thank you anyone who thought encouraging thought's of me on their run π
Well done everyone for taking part.. I hope you all had a great day π₯°

Wow Caroline, 20 minutes better than your last Half Marathon, a big congratulations to you for that amazing achievement, you should be very proud of yourself, that was a lovely gesture, your son giving you a medal with your username engraved on it, I am still amazed on that 20 minutes PB, once again congratulations π π ππΎ
Pollock Parkrun was the first parkrun in Scotland, I live about 15 miles away by road from Pollock Park, over the last 12 weeks I have been given a car lift to all my parkruns, unless there is a special event, Pollock Parkrun will take place on the 18th December, I could ask my friend Keith who takes me to parkrun to go to Pollock on 18th December.
Don't go to any troubles Alan, just thought it might be nice to run together since I know how you love your park runs... Let me know nearer the time ππ
No trouble at all Caroline, it takes me by car 35 minutes to get to Dunfermline parkrun, it would take around 30 minutes by car to get to Pollock Parkrun, I will ask Keith who takes me by car if we could go to Pollock Parkrun on 18th December, I will ask him nearer the time.
Waaaah congratulations Sparky! It sounds as though you had a brilliant run. Thatβs an amazing time too, so well done. And happy runniversary for yesterday, way to celebrate. I hope all those goodies from your daughter taste as good as they look. Hurrah! πππ
Sparky, this is incredible. You have come such a long way in a year. So pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it, too. The PB is amazing. Hope you can enjoy a nice rest this afternoon.
Sounds like a great run! Glad you felt strong. Quite a few other reports Iβve read say that they found it tough. Go you! How thoughtful of your family π
How fabulous! That's a brilliant race report and an amazing run! If you're not dipping til 18 or 19k, you just know you've got it! But to do so with such a great PB is something to be really, really proud of. Your children are both lovely, bet they have a lovely mum!!!
Thanks Linda, I don't know..I just felt strong even before the run today.. was ready for it..π still took me by surprise how far I'd gone feeling good.. just a magic run.. think all the excitement knowing lots were running seemed like a little extra bit of magic π
