Starting at 8:30am with my 10 year old Son cycling alongside me, weather was nice and cool for the first 45 minutes but then the sun decided to blaze down on the trails. The trails are fairly technical with some inclines and some sludgy areas where the rain hasn't dried up from previous days. Despite this we managed to keep going using drinks and very important chewits as fuel!
This was my first half marathon and we managed to complete it in 2 hours 19 minutes (which I have read is quite good for a female). I was aiming to complete in 2 and a half hours for my first one so I'm chuffed with coming ten minutes faster and that's with mild plantar fasciitis and slight niggle in my left knee from an old ITB injury. Ney bad!
Of course I made sure we had medals at the end and my Son was over the moon with his engraved words on the back. I'll attach a picture and also attach proof from my watch recording.
Well done to everyone else who has completed this today. π

Congratulations π it sound like challenging, but fun route. Well done on your time and huge congratulations to your 10 year old son too. I'm sure he'll soon have an array of medals. πππ
Well done to both you and your son for cycling alongside you and getting up early on a Sunday. The medals were a great idea and a great memento for your both. Also, very well done on the great time.
Wow thats fabulous! Congratulations. That's an amazing trail for a trail HM - especially one with sludge!!! I have a bright and shiny forum Half Marathon badge for you. Congratulations again π
Thank you Linda. I'm quite chuffed. Thank you for your support and your part in organising everything. I couldn't have achieved the milestone without HU!! Xx
