The last few weeks have been more down than up what with various things including a very niggly hamstring which wasn’t quite IC bad, but was heading that way if I didn’t slow it down a bit. I did something to it on my birthday run on 22nd August and since then have managed to rest it and then do some slow 3 and 5ks.
Anyway, today it felt completely healed, and I had a lovely slow 10k run. The weather was just perfect, bright and sunny, warm in places but nothing like the heat we’ve had recently.
I ran round the rec a few times and it was great to see all the youngsters doing their rugby and football training, although there were some very serious looking parents watching over them!
Saw quite a few other runners, and some ladies handing out flyers with road closure notices for next week’s Winchester HM. I haven’t entered it because I’m not experienced enough tbh and I also looking at it online they couldn’t have chosen a more dastardly course if they tried! My eyes watered just seeing the off road hills on it 🤣. Next year maybe 🤔.
Anyway, it was great to get 10k under my belt today, had been feeling a bit mis, but running doesn’t go anywhere does it! Have a smashing day everyone 😁🏃♀️🏃♂️⭐️.

Ah yes indeed Ian. Birthday seems ages ago now, I had a lovely lunch and went to the cinema which I hadn’t done in ages. It’s just nice to feel a bit more back on track! 😊😊😊
Ah bless you Sparky! Yes, it did feel good have to say. Oooh wonder if I’ll have achy legs tomorrow too?! A good ache, I’m sure 😊. And def more work to be done this end too, I’m just very relieved about the hamstring 😁. Was just watching the Great North Run on the telly and thinking to myself ooooh that looks like fun 🤩! I’m pleased you found your headspace as well yesterday, can’t beat it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ah thank you Linda! Yes, I feel much better in myself, I thought I’d lost a bit of a spark for a while. Cooler weather and the sun helps loads too 😊😊😊.
Sounds as though it all going in the right direction! Yes, I think I’ve looked at the Winchester HM in the past and thought it sounds quite…er, undulating!😏
Yes indeed - my manager told me it’s pretty harsh! Apparently and according to a running guru I know the Gosport half is nice and flat and is still fairly local to me, so maybe that’s one to think about for the future. Just need to get the miles up again! Thank you Sandra 😊😊😊.
