I went out this morning not sure what distance to Run, I had ran a fast 5K yesterday and never normally run on consecutive days...
From the off I was very slow..and I just couldn't seem to pick up any speed atall 🙄
I had said to Almorr I might virtually run his 10 Mile with him.... A few K in and I knew it wasn't going to happen today, sorry Al I did cheer you on, 🎉 hope you made it and had a great run 🙏
But I'm pleased to have found a new bit to add onto my route which I'm excited to explore on my next longer Run 👏
Was great to get my new badge 👏👏
Happy Running all 🙌🏃♀️🏃

Lol Caroline, it didn't happen to me either, I ran 12K this morning in a time of 1:32:11, the run was fine up to 8K, in fact, a little faster than last week when I only ran 8k, this morning's 8K split time was around 10 seconds quicker than last weeks full 8K, anyway after 10K this morning my pace just slowed down, the last k split was a slow 9.11/min.km compared with 7.03/min.km at 5k and with that announcement from Alexa I just stopped the run, don't put your run as a failure, I won't, these things happen, enjoy the rest of the day.
Never say a run's a failure Alan, well done on getting out.. there's always another beautiful day to try ☀️🐦🌳My run found me a new route to explore so that's a blessing 🙏
Have a great day 👍
Off for a haircut ready for Govan fair on Friday 🤣
Sunny Govan, enjoy Govan Fair on Friday. I went to a new parkrun, it's Springburn parkrun in Glasgow, on 14th May which was their 8th birthday I ran there for the first time, my 5K time was 31.54, there are only a few gentle inclines, worth a visit whenever you are in Glasgow.
Hope you still enjoyed your post-run ice cream Al. 12k is a really good run, maybe not quite the 10 miles you set out to do but I'm sure you'll get there next time 😊
To be honest with you Beatlesforever I remember telling Instructor57 that I would see if I could run 10 miles this Wednesday, today, but if it proved to be a bit long, then I would stop probably around the 12/13K point, in running you can't take shortcuts, like building up to a 10K I usually run 1K more a week like I did in April and early May, I didn't do that when I was intending to run 10miles/16K, I think that was the reason I had to stop at 12K this morning.Over the next few weeks I will gradually increase my distance from 10K by 1K a week and if I can, run 16K later in June or early July.
Nice one willowandsola 🤗Yes stick with your plan.. always the right time for our longer runs, just great to be out there enjoying them, especially in the summer months ☀️🐦🌳
Oooh yes I love a new route! Seem to have lost my mojo a bit this week 😊. Should be running today but you know when it’s a day off work and all you want to do is slob! We’ll see - better decide soon though as it’s getting warm out there 🔆🔆🔆.
