So this how far I got today when attempting my 10 mile run. I was going great guns until 8K when the back pain kicked in again and I was forced to stop after Jeffing it to 9K. Shame because I was really flying between 5 and 8K.
Immediately after I ordered a deep tissue massage and the therapist told me that I have IT Band pain which is actually emanating from my leg and hip. OMG I thought I was going to take off when she went to work on it. It seems to have done the trick as my back now seems fine and I feel optimistic about giving it another go on Sunday. She told me to rest tomorrow and drink plenty of water and eat healthily. She also said my posture isn’t good and I need to do some stretching.
So we shall see if the improvement in my ‘back’ translates to running but whatever happens I will now be getting regular massages until the HHM as it is really going to help me. I feel floaty and chilled and actually looking forward to testing out the effects of the massage on a run on Sunday. Fingers crossed it will help but my God was my leg and hip sore!!!

Deep tissue massage hurts a bit sometimes. Sliding suction hurt a lot on the occasion I needed it. Sometimes we have to do these things; like banging your head against a brick wall, it feels lovely when you stop!!
Mine do tell me to yell out if it hurts too much; pride gets in the way though! I am sure that it will have helped a lot . I went for a loosen up after my 19k last Saturday; relatively painless. 👍
I really hope so. The ITB explains the knee soreness too. Going to run again possibly Monday now instead of Sunday. Will give myself maximum recovery chances.
