Saved it for 1st April as I had a totally clear day to allow for recovery, dashing around with the teenagers the past two days! No "fooling" around here my friends!

Perfect running conditions, about 12 degrees, sunshine and a gentle breeze.... LOVED the Edinburgh 10km course and commentary, some great motivational messages that made me smile and spurred me on!! Suspect a few walkers I passed may have thought I had cramp/wind/weird runner's face kind of thang going on as I giggled/tried to keep a steady breath going!

I will confess I didn't go with the playlist, I will another time, simply because my audiobook was reaching its finale so I had to listen!

Deeee-lighted with my 55:25 time, as it's my first 10k in nearly 6 months. I think it might be my second fastest road 10km since I started running just over two years ago! Not bad for a slightly decrepit 52 year old with a knackered back and shoulders!

Massive thanks to our gorgeous admin team roseabi and linda9389 for setting the challenge and motivating so many of the group to get out and do HM's and 10k's.

That is a fantastic time!!! Congratulations. How to get back to 10k with a bang (as it's after midday I'm assuming there's no April foolery going on here) πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Hope the finale lived up to expectations too 😊

Thank you, Linda, all I was hoping for was to be sub 60 if I could, as it had been a while. I thought I had gone out slow but heard "5.31" at the end of the first km, and was a bit shocked as I was worried the legs would struggle in the last few kms so slowed off a bit, especially on the small incline I have on the loop that I do four times to get to 10km, but surprised myself that my last km was my fastest! Felt great! Will probably fall asleep over the laptop this afternoon though.... Story SOO close to finishing, dog walk later should tell me "whodunnit"! πŸ˜œβ˜€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Thanks again for hosting and motivating!

Well done Joster! That’s a great time. I’m considering trying a few audiobooks as a change from podcasts/music. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I love audiobooks to run to. When I started it had to be music for the beat and so on but then when I was HM training last year I listened to books about running to keep the poor old legs moving and I’ve stuck with books ever since!
