Haven't run for six days due to work and curfew, so went out to do a sensible, grown-up, properly-paced, flat(tish) 5k or so on roads and footpaths.

Came back just over an hour later covered in mud, having succumbed yet again to the lure of the forest and got lost in the process. Slowest run ever - I even ended up walking on a short but super-muddy, rutted 20%+ uphill stretch. Also climbed over a fallen tree, jumped over branches, and hopped and skipped over streamlets.

Results: 8.10k, 7:44/km, 327m elevation gain, and a daft grin.

Good for you! It’s great fun isn’t it 😃👍🏃‍♀️

I don’t think we’re lost as such but rather just temporarily don’t know where we are 😁

Yes I like this definition of lost! I’m like this more often than not

That reassures me Decker . I usually work on the theory that if a track shows signs 👣 of loggers 🌲 or hunters 🐕 having been there, it must go somewhere. Not necessarily where I'd like it to go, but somewhere!

They eventually all go somewhere. 🙂I usually just follow footprints in the snow, bit last week I strayed from that plan and got totally lost

That was exactly it misswobble . I knew that if I could keep on going up I'd eventually get to the track that I often run along, even if I didn't know where and when!

I think if we just do this stuff early in the day we’re ok. Don’t get caught out by falling darkness 👀 I’ve done so several times. Lesson learned 🤭

I love that you finished with a “daft grin” 😃 Perfect.

It was so much fun, and so utterly unlike the run I'd planned to do Irishprincess ! 😁

That elevation gain is amazing 😻 over that distance. Have a day off 🛏

Some of it was unintentional (oh look this track goes up, not down...) but I love playing in the forest, and it's hard to run on the flat round here HeavyFoot . I've had a few days off, so I might go out tomorrow, and do something sensible for a change. Or not... 😂

Now that sounds like my kind of run! Much more interesting and fun than tarmac, tarmac, tarmac, and I wouldn’t call it getting lost either, that’s being curious and exploring! 💪🏃‍♀️and the mud......running medals! 🏅😂

Well done you!

I don't think I'm cut out for the serious training stuff. But give me places to explore, especially in the forest, and I'll bash on quite happily!

That sounded a fun run! Steep! Well done...that still seems pretty fast time to me!

Well, it wasn't all 20%+ uphill, there was a fair bit where the gradient was in single figures! ;)
