I spent ages pouring over street maps of the local area yesterday and managed to concoct this on the opposite side of town in an area that I'm totally unfamiliar with. Mr B now thinks I am developing severe anal tendencies. π
Yesterday was a run day and I'm hoping to fit a run in tomorrow so I decided it would be ideal to walk this today. Walking would also allow me to look at Google maps on my phone and avoid taking a wrong turning and messing things up. The rain finally relented in the early afternoon so I set off, clutching my mobile, and wearing my lightweight waterproof jacket just in case. It is stupidly mild here for the time of year.
I'm recording my total distance today for the 2020 Distance Challenge so I divide the walk into 3 parts and record each separately:-
It turns out it's slightly further from home to to the head of the first "2" than I thought it would be - 1.9km
On the "2020" I pass several houses numbered 20, but bearing linda9389 's experience I 'm not stopping to take any photographs.π At the base of the first "0" the occupant of one house - numbered 20 as it happens - is having a conversation on the doorstep with a neighbour. I get two really odd looks as I pass them for the second time, in order to complete the "0". π By the time I reach the tail of the second "0" the watch reads 2.7km. (Do zero's actually have tails? π€)
It's then a further 1.77km back home via a narrow lane that leads onto the top of the road past the Rugby Club that I used for my Speed Challenge attempts. It's even muddier that it was on Friday when I did my final speed run. Fittingly it starts to chuck it down again. I'm glad I wore my waterproof. I have an old pair of trainers on so it doesn't matter that they end up covered in mud.
