My first half marathon distance

Today I ran the furthest I've ever run. 22km. I'm over the moon. I'm training for a HM in December (which may or may not happen) but to get there already was very pleasing.

If you'd told me that I could run a HM distance 12 months ago I would have laughed. At that time I'd just completed C25K on a treadmill. Since then I've completed in a 10k race in 56min, did a 5k virtual race in 26min and now run a HM distance. Not bad for a 50 year old 🥳🤣😃

Congratulations on completing your first Half Marathon, you should be very proud of yourself, the words Half Marathon should soon appear next to your username, if not tell the administrators on the Marathon and Support page that you have ran your first HM, once again congratulations 🎊, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement with 🍷 🏃🏾 👍 🎓

Excellent work! 900m over half marathon actually!

I'd forgotten what the actual km distance was, didn't want to stop to check, so made sure I achieved it, I knew it was 21 something 🤣

WOW well done! I did 16km today and I found it particularly hard. I also have a HM in December (Milton Keynes) and wondering how the hell I'll manage. I assume it wont be as hilly as my run today (ca300m)! Massive congratulations!

Great work, that's 10miles. They say on the day that if you've run 10miles then you'll get the energy to do just 3 more, especially if you've been running up hills 😀

Let’s hope so! As things are I’m not sure i can ever run again 😂

Congratulations on your great achievement! I assume you went slightly over just to make sure the tech logged it?

ActuallyI couldn't quite remember what a HM distance was in Kms, I knew it was 21 something. 🤣 And yes I always run another few meters to just make sure the watch catches the distance.

Me too since i was cheated of a 10km by 400meters! Best be safe

Sorry about you being cheated by 400 meters when you ran 10K, it's the 10 miles in kilometres and a half and full marathon distance that could catch people out if they are on kilometres and not miles, 10 miles in kilometres is 16.093K and a half marathon is 13.109 miles which in kilometres are 21.098 K. so it's better to run a little further to be on the safe side as I did when I ran my only 10 miles run in July.

Yes it is! I ran 16.2 km yesterday just to make sure it would register as 10 miles. I’m not getting had again 🙂
