Tired legs?

Since before lockdown I have been putting in about 20-25k per week but recently my legs have felt tired. 5ks used to be a walk in the park and forgotten about afterwards whereas now I have stiffness that day and day after. Variables? I had a month off with a busted toe but I have been back at it for a month now. Still pretty hot here but has been since June. Spinning again as 1 extra gym session which has started again since the lockdown was eased.

So I have 3 run days (2 short 1 long) 3 gym days (2 strength and flex type with weights, treadmill walk and stairclimber, currently dropped and 1 spin session)

I am thinking I may need to drop one of the gym in order to give more recovery?

Diet is good. Lots of nuts, peanut butter, meat, lentils veg. Heavy (possibly over heavy) fluid intake.

Any suggestions on what to change or improve please.

I supposed you could be overdoing it - try cutting back for a couple of weeks and see how you feel?

But also, are you doing the same runs every week? You could be bored rather than tired! If so, maybe try mixing it up a bit! New routes, intervals workouts, different times of day (if possible), half marathon plan (or other distance).

Am actually ok with the routes, yes it is the same but I zone out (may have a major music shuffle though), the route is safe and I am quite limited on routes that avoid either bonkers hills or traffic. The route is by the sea so cooler in the heat here. I am on HM plan and (HUHM autumn2000). Hopefully the weather will break soon and it will cool. Heat may be a factor too but it has been hot since May when I last got a PR which may in itself tell a tale. Intervals I have a bit of a problem with--mental discipline- I start off ok then forget the timing etc :-) that is why I like the spinning as it is like interval training....certainly from a cardio point of view. Thanks for the input.

My first thought is the same as roseabi's - take a cut back week every 4 or 5 weeks; it might just give you a new burst of energy, fresh legs and all that.

Update. Had an easy day yesterday, skipped gym, 30mins of YWA. On my light week on HM plan so today 5-10k. Changed the route a little but was done at 7 km, last week 11km on same day. Just can't understand it not so long ago I was doing 25k per week. Grrrrrrr. Quite demoralising too. If it continues I may see if I can get some bloods done see if I am deficient at all.
