...and my brain - can't work out how to post multiple pictures, nor how to turn the photo the right way around!
Much cooler than last week, but still warm enough to wear short sleeves, I really enjoyed today's inaugural half marathon. It was clear a lot of work had gone into the planning and organisation of the event. I loved the route and we did the first 10k in a decent time for us (not far off current 5k pace!), but I had overdone the cycling to the pub yesterday and re-twinged my thigh and once we had got to the half way point, it really began grumbling. I don't want to turn a niggle into an injury, so I backed off and ran/walked the rest of the run. It did mean my time was way off what I would have liked, but hey, it was a pb for this route! And it does mean that next year, I won't have to kill myself to get better :).
Definitely on the list to do again, but now, after last week's 3 runs now topped off with a hm, I think my legs deserve a bit of tlc and rest, so no more races - well, for next week, at least!

Ha ha, you're as bad as me. I went to the trouble of doing a photomontage thing and then posted the wrong thing. Doh! More tiresome than the flippin race!
I got a PB for this race/route today too so well happy. Well done you! I am racing next Sunday so no rest for the wicked
Well done! I think you were very wise to ease off with a nasty niggle. No point sabotaging future running. You have the bling and a time to beat next time! Win, win! Enjoy your rest days!🙂
Fantastic, well done! Yep a rest is definitely due! feet up!
Sounds like a wise move to protect from injury but looks like you enjoyed it anyway. Next time you have a chance to crack your pb. A great day, well done!
