So today should’ve been 15k on the plan, but I decided in the end that I wanted to set a bench mark time for 10 miles before the virtual race next week! Today’s time was 2:07, so next week the aim is for beat that and maybe aim for sub 2 hours.
Less navigation issues with Komoot this time, today’s disagreement was the suitability of the path it sent me down with 4ft+ nettles 😡 managed to sting my armpit which was REALLY staring to chafe by the 14th km 😖
Still it’s almost a year to the day that I came second to last in a 5K fun run at work and decided to take this running thing more seriously. Who would’ve thought I’d be writing about running 10 miles a year later?! Certainly not me!

Thank you, for this and all the other encouragement you’ve given me! Will have to try it a few more times to decide if I prefer it to 10K which is my current favourite!
Well done on your marathon yesterday, hope the legs aren’t too sore today!
Wow, amazing! Congratulations on a great milestone - that's such tangible progress, you should be very proud. Would you like a 10 mile badge to wear for a while before your next virtual race?
Ooh yes please, I will take all the bling 🤩🙈 signed up for a virtual runner autumn half marathon this week too so I can hopefully get a real medal at some point for all my efforts!
Tada! Congratulations again!!! I fell victim to the Virtual Runner email this weekend too - 1000km running and 3000 miles cycling, so I will have to stay on my game through the winter, particularly with the cycling 😱
