Great Scottish Run cancelled

Just seen it on my news feed that this will be cancelled until next year. The HM or 10k was due to take place in October in Glasgow. They've definitely made the right decision. As it seems since they opened more pubs/ shops there are more clusters and cases of covid.

That was a forelone conclusion as they say, the the rescheduled London Marathon is due to be ran on the same day, however, I understand that there is to be an announcement about that on the 30th July.

Sensible all around... the runs will wait for happier and hopefully, somewhat healthier and safer times?

Not surprised and glad there is not to be large numbers gathering in Glasgow. The Baxters Loch Ness marathon also due in October cancelled some time ago. That was where I ran my graduation 5k last year. Happy running 🤗

Sad but I guess, expected and ultimately, sensible.😕 I expect they will make the same announcement any day now, about the Great South Run.😥

Its the right thing to do anyway as just recently where I live there has been clusters of new cases

Bit of a shame, I'd hoped I might get to do that or the Scottish Half (or both!) but I've nothing at all in 2020 now 😔 (except Supernova, but that's a wee short one, and they're still in my bad books for not giving us the choice to defer or answering any messages)

Supposedly, it's been rebooked for November—back near when it used to be held. Not that anyone can get hold of the company that runs it 🙄
