Hi all, I ran 16km this morning, including a few km along the beach from Bognor to Climping on the south coast. It’s mainly shingle and sand on the beach. I had to clamber over groynes, just to add to the fun!🏖🏝
It was well outside my comfort zone but I’m so pleased I gave it a go. Fantastic sense of achievement at the end😊👍
I’d recommend it if you want a different challenge and happen to be at the seaside, maybe for a staycation in the current circumstances!🙂

I was at the coast last weekend for the day so no time to run It was just walking and enjoying the wonderful wilderness bits I was walking and benefitting from it, but I just want to run when I see the sea 😀.
I live in the centre of the country No sea for miles. Still, I appreciate it all the more when I do get chance to run on the sands or prom etc. Nice to run on a bit of flat 😁
Yes, I love running along the prom!🏃♂️ No traffic to worry about, just other runners, walkers, skaters and cyclists. Oh, and tractors towing fishing boats down to the sea for launch⛵️🚤😊
Ooooh, sounds hard work, well done. I found myself on deep sand bridle paths yesterday and that was hard enough - even at the edges! Hoping to have a seaside run next weekend for the first time in months and months and months, but I will be sticking to the prom!
Thanks Linda, I ran about 1.5km on the prom then about 2km on shingle/sand, then another 2km on a farm track and path before getting back onto tarmac. Great fun!
Sounds a great run David - so much variety to keep it interesting 😊 I live by the sea and love the idea of running on the sand but I know it's very hard... so super impressed 👏👏
Thanks SmilingTortoise1, it was tiring to run on sand and shingle but I’ve rarely felt a sense of accomplishment on any other run! I’ll give it a go again, but probably not so far next time!🤣
