Training for a Half Marathon; from choosing a training plan to hanging your bling πŸ…

Are you looking to train for your first Half marathon? have one or two questions (or maybe a seemingly endless list of them)?

A half marathon is very achievable and lots of people find it a very rewarding distance to run.

We recently ran Spring 2020 Half Marathon Group; each week we posted on different topics from choosing a plan to completing those 13.1 miles. The group included first timers together with seasoned HM runners. The links to each week's post are below.

You should find some useful info, both in the posts and also in the comments where everyone shared their own questions and experiences too! Have a read, then maybe put up your own post - let us know your plans and we'll be happy to help if we can and to encourage you on your way.

Good luck and, above all, plan to enjoy the whole process πŸ™‚

Really helpful, thank you. I have found some of them but to have them all together is very good. xx

It was actually your post a couple of weeks or so ago that inspired the idea of a pinned post ... it just took me a ridiculously long time to get round to it, not to mention a couple more people asking the same question 😊

That must have been a lot of work organising that post, thank you! I am not ready for the big HM yet (did I really include the word yet!). My aim is 10 miles this year - at 13km so far. But I am sure there will be useful tips from your post, thanks again. 😊

Brillian t- 10k is a great distance (and a fabulous point to start to train for a HM from, if you do decide to). You're right, lots of the HM tips will be useful for 10 mile training.

You're so nearly there now - I look forward to seeing your shiny 10 mile medal before the year is out 😊

Hi Linda, I just must reply to this post as 1) it’s so good! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ€© and 2) I’m slowly preparing something similar for the Strength & Flex community, which is going to take a bit of time and drilling down into historic posts. So much knowledge on these forums! πŸ’ͺ🦡πŸ€ͺ

Onwards and Upwards. (And love the pic!)

Such fabulous post!!!
