Hello VRB'S this is my first post on here. Today I ran my very first 10 miles which I never thought possible. It was tough it was very hilly but I did it.
So next distance hopefully HM but it will take as long as it takesππ

Magnificent Buddy ππ₯³π
Thank you, finally embraced the shortsπ€£π€£
Ohhhhhhhhhhh that's gotta be worth the freedom of the Highlands Buddy ππ
Congratulations on completing your first 10 mile run, nice to see the word 10 miles next to your username, yes, next one, half marathon but like you say "it will take as long as it takes", well done.
This morning I went a 8K walk, had lunch then went a 17 Kilometer π² bike ride, came home and took Holly a very short 1 Kilometre walk.
Amazing!πππ well done Buddy - a fantastic achievement! Rest up well - you've earned it!π
That's a great first post on here - congratulations π. 10 miles is a massive achievement and a HM really isn't that much further if/when you're ready. Well done πππ
Yayayayay Buddy! Huge well done on your 10 miles, and that new badge of yours looks fantastic I must say! ππππ πΎπ
I must admit, I didnβt realise you hadnβt posted on this forum before - I know youβre an epic runner and assumed you had already run 10 miles! Oops ...
All I can say is, HM is βonly a parkrun longerβ than 10 miles. Youβll get there, no doubt about it. πππ
Congratulations Buddy. Well done you. π₯³π
You've hit my goal before me! I'm still one and a half k short of ten miles. Like you, it only occurred to me that I could run a half marathon when I got over 14k. I'll be chasing you all the way. π πββοΈπββοΈ
I need to keep running then because if I remembered right you want to cut my ponytail offπ€£π€£π€£ or have I mistaken you for another vrb
We could all do with a lockdown haircut. π
I really need a cut and colour . Looks like I will need to do it myselfπ
I'm currently sporting the lockdown look; #3 blade all over. Not sure what the options for you lady folk are, but for men, we're all going to come out of this with one of three options, bald, crewcut or mullet.
π
I gave up colouring my hair a few years ago. I realised that underneath all that hair product, I'm actually snow white and very on trend.π
Whoop whoop ππ€ΈββοΈπΎπ well done Buddy! Thatβs brilliant, such fab news. You must be thrilled π
Well done. You are now ready to enter the Great South Run. Wonderful event on absolutely flat terrain in Portsmouth, normally 3rd Sunday in October, should you ever get the opportunity.
Would need to be the Great Scottish run Coddfish as I am in Scotland π
The Great South Run is 10 miles, the Great Scottish Run's are 10K AND Half Marathon.
The Scottish HM and Scottish 10k in September (assuming they happen as planned this year) are along the coast in East Lothian (mostly along the John Muir Way); starting and finishing in Musselburgh. I've run along bits of the route and it is very flat.
If the event does go ahead, it's just a couple of weeks before my 50th, so I was thinking it might be a good(?) way to celebrate the occasion.
There must be two Scottish 10K's and two Scottish HM's, the one in September you have mentioned and the Great Scottish Run which is due to take place in Glasgow on 4th October, the same day as the revised London Marathon, like you say I wonder if any of them will go ahead.
Brilliant Buddy! HM is close now!
ππ»ππ» Very well done Buddy! π
Great work Buddy! I remember the feeling when I completed my first 10 miles (only a few weeks back) I literally wanted to die! Done it twice more since, going for 11.5 this week and then the half next weekend (should have been my race) it's a massive hitting 10, well done π€©
Fantastic achievement! Well done, that is my current goal too π
Yeah. Well done you.
Woop Woop! Go you! That's a biggy and a massive achievement to do it in such a fantastic time (it took me four attempts to get below two hours and it's only on my last two runs that I've gone under 1:45:00.
Pretty sure you'll smash HM when you make the step up.
It did feel a great achievement but I didn't realise a cycle path would have so many hilly bits so had a few 10 seconds walk breaksπ
Congratulations! Brilliant! So good to read good news!

congratulations ! I didn't realise you were working towards this It's a great achievement - and so enjoyable. Have fun πππ
I missed this! Congratulations Buddy34 - itβs great to see someone rise from c25k to 10 miles. For me, 10 miles was the real test, so the greatest achievement. Well done you.
