I just thought that I would post a view of the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors. It was taken last week, from the half way treat stop on Molly's walk, which is about half an hour's walk (too steep to run!) from our front door.
Today there were quite a lot of people about in the forest. Young families, older folk, bikes, runners ....but loads of space so that the 2 metre gap was never in danger of being breached. I have never had so many good mornings, how are doing etc. Supermarket scrambles apart, people seem to be taking the time to be pleasant and supportive of each other. There is something reassuring about that.
Running? Today's quest was to complete a Vitality run and drag myself over the 10k mark for the first time since various bugs ruined Christmas and the New Year. I did say I was aiming for somewhere between 10k and 10 miles before I set off, but settled for a sensible 12k at a steady 7:08/k. No point in being IC at this point! I felt a couple of niggles in my left leg at one point, but they went and didn't return....maybe it was the muscles stretching out after all of this hill climbing with Molly. Anyway, hopefully that will help our score along a little bit!
I get that this is all escapism, and may seem trivial, but maybe we all need a little bit of that at the moment. We need a sense of humour too. What evil influence decided to cause my 93 year old mother's toilet to spring a leak yesterday....some things can't wait.
Thanks for all of those who are still turning up,for work to keep the rest of us safe.
