Hoka Speedgoat 4. I have two pairs of Rincons for road and also the Challenger 5 for road and trail mixed - Challengers aren’t so good for deeper mud. All Hokas bought sale price or price matched. Now my Ons are going on eBay.
Since I switched to Hoka, knee and associated hip pain have all but gone.
My knee pain went immediately with Hokas too! I love my Speedgoats. I have Gaviotas for road as I over pronate. Apparently its the low drop that's good for knees 😁
Interesting that you've found the same. I’ve gone from having to bandage my knee, to k-tape for longer runs and no support for shorter runs. I try to run in low drop shoes anyway as I’m always in bare feet or flat shoes for everyday, but Hokas are even lower than Ons.
What a lovely selection of shoes Flick, a different pair for whatever run you are doing
To celebrate my two years runiversary this April I intend to buy a pair of Brooks Glycerin Trail shoes or something similar in the specialised Sports Shop I bought my running shoes last April.
Hooray for Hokas! 🎉 Love the colour scheme and am amused by the concept of a speedy goat! I've come across the odd speedy (panicked) sheep whilst horse riding but not a goat (yet!).
😂 love that, speedy sheep. “Named after Karl Meltzer aka The Speedgoat who holds the record for the most 100-mile trail race wins and epitomises the go everywhere run everything attitude this shoe is designed to attack all kinds of technical trail. ”
Hopefully they will make Capricorn me a speedy goat!
Yes, the sole is stiffer. Which is a good thing when you’re negotiating rough ground. The foot sits down inside the heel and midsole though, not on top, so your feet are nearer the ground than you would imagine from looking at the outside
