How’s your injured leg? you’ve got to ease yourself back in. You know you can do 18 and 20 miles so I wouldn’t worry about wanting to repeat it
If you find the 20 miles easy then you should be good on the day 👍. Build back up gently
Hi Paul I thought of you on my run just now. I was listening to Nike Coach Bennett on my running app. We were doing a slow 7km run this morning. He talked about 7 km as being a LONG RUN, and it struck me that you probably think of a long run as more like 17 k or 18 k and above.
he talked about slow progression and the changes and improvements that brings in our bodies, and that we shouldn't be in a hurry to speed things up.
Take care matey!
You have 6 weeks. The last 2 weeks should be tapering so effectively 4 weeks of mileage progression before the taper. You could do long runs of 11, 13, 15, 18 with some small increases each week on the shorter mid week runs.
The taper weeks are very important. Also don't be tempted to jump back into a very long run. Especially now that you've discovered you are not invincible.
