Just got back from a nice and easy 5K recovery run with a friend (she ran 15K yesterday!) and I really enjoyed it! I got up a little bit later at 6AM to start running at 6:30AM (usually it's an hour earlier which can be hard work sometimes!) and we were treated to a really beautiful sunrise towards the end of our run (sorry, I didn't take any pictures)! It was really nice to run when it was a little bit lighter and I cannot wait for the spring and summer where I can explore different routes because it's light! I am limited to only a few routes when running in the dark because some routes aren't that safe in the dark.
But when I got back, I found that my Fitbit had only recorded half of the data it usually records which is really annoying! It's recorded my heart rate data, steps and so on, but it hasn't recorded my splits, map, or time! So I have no idea how long we ran 5K for this morning! I like recording all my training runs on a spreadsheet so I can see my progress and stuff but it's frustrating when I don't have the data to input because of my stupid Fitbit! Oh well, it's recorded my average pace for the whole run so I'll just have to estimate that we ran 5K in about 45 minutes. Technology is great when it works but when it doesn't...

Yeah tech is very frustrating - I like to have the exact numbers for my training log so I'm annoyed that I have to make an estimate. I cannot wait for spring, I am getting fed up of the dark, wind and rain now! Hope you have a great 10K run and hopefully it won't rain! Let us know how you get on!
Well done you, great job! At least it didn't rain, I almost lost my hat in the wind on Monday's run though! Yep, I'm very familiar with that post-run 'I need food or I will die' feeling too! 😃
That must be really annoying. Usually when I do a run it is immediately available to view on my phone, but the first time I ran a sub 30 5K it took several minutes to upload from my watch and I was on tenterhooks thinking the data had somehow been lost!
Well done for getting out there again at such an unholy hour. Have settings changed on your fitbit? Did it maybe think you were running indoors on a treadmill?
Hmm not sure. I haven't changed any settings which is weird...my Fitbit normally works fine but there's just a few runs where it doesn't record all of the data, maybe it lost signal or something but I don't understand it...
It happens and very annoying it is too! Grrrr. Still, the important thing is that you did the run 💪👍🏃♀️✅
My phone battery died early yesterday and I got bog all of the run off it. I was wearing my Garmin though Belt and braces 🙂. Lovely to run with no tech Do that sometimes 👍
Yes very annoying! Thay must have been annoying when you lost all that data! Yes I really must give that a go from time to time, just to run for the enjoyment of it and not worry about times or anything! I might do that after my half marathon. 😃
I missed runs this week and upset my plan but these things happen. We have to make adjustments.
Running free, without worrying about times and all that malarky is lovely No tech. Just the run. Taking a few photos, stopping to take in views, having a snack It’s a way of recharging the batteries.
