Why is it that some days when you're supposed to run you have to bully yourself out of the door, yet on days you're not supposed to run (like today because I'm tapering for my 10k race tomorrow) you're itching to get out there? Off out for a walk instead.

That's the way things go with running, you are quite correct just to go a walk today Arthur, I wish you all the best for your Buchlyvie 10K tomorrow. 😊 🏃🏾

That's fabulous, it means you are ready!

Enjoy your walk, and all the best for tomorrow xx

I suppose I am ready yes but will I still be ready tomorrow? I think, answering my own question, obviously tapering reduces fatigue and fatigue is surely a factor in any disinclination to run. It’s only my second officially timed 10k: my first one was over five minutes faster than my best 10k training time before or since, so I’m not sure what to expect or even what to attempt.

Gotta go for a PB in my book ... although that's a habit I'm looking to break as it can't be healthy long term 😍. Maybe better advice is to go to enjoy it 🙂. Good luck!
