Took myself round a slow (1h25) 10k this evening as the first run as part of my taper for next weekend.
In June, 10k felt like such an impossible distance, this evening I came back and my boyfriend said I didn’t even look like I’d ran! Shows how much impact this training has had.
Got one more 10k on Saturday, then a 4/5k next week and then it’s showtime!
I’m getting strangely nervous, despite covering the distance 11 days ago! I had a bad dream last night that I was so far over the cut off the tail runners stopped me and told me I couldn’t finish the run 😔. But worked out that even if I kept the pace I did today it would still be 3h01 so it’s definitely all psychological.
I’ve come back from this run though and for the first time in a week my head feels clear.
