I set out this morning for an easy 5k and was merrily hopping over all the mud on the road from maize harvest (not our farm - we road brush - halo glowingπ) when I saw a Sainsbury's van coming towards me. Ooops. I flagged him to stop and asked if he was going to @#34& farm ?" Yes. Oh whoops - I thought you were coming at 11. I'll turn round and follow you back. He set off and I pegged it - knowing my daughter was still asleep! I decided to short cut across the fields that the same muddy neighbour had just ploughed but luckily they were power harrowed so they were smooth ready for sowing. It was downhill so I flew across the field, my trainers getting heavier and heavier -then over the stile (it is a footpath) into our field - nice bit of grass to clean trainers off but also cattle foot holes. Carefully picking my way but still running, I managed to get back as he was opening the doors to unload π He was quite impressed by how fast I covered the mile he just travelled!!!

New sport- race the delivery van
very impressive, your legs will be well trained across fields from chasing stock (may be?)
Crikey you must have been fast! Good that you got there in time π
Oh wow! What a lark!!! Great job πππ
I love this! Sounds great fun π€
I bet the driver will tell this story to everyone!
Are you going to try a person versus horse event next? I look forward to the announcement on the Friday Pompom post!
That is funny! I wonder if the driver is the type to speed up if this happens again, or would he back off a bit to give you a fair chance of βwinningβ?
Love the picture you conjure up Cowladyrunning ππββοΈ
Don't know any farmers who road brush round here. I ran a seriously muddy and mucky stretch of road yesterday, drove it a couple of hours later. Much preferred the running!
Well done you! ππͺπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ Nothing like a challenge to get us going π. I bet that felt epic! π
I chickened out of a field crossing on Saturday. It looked vile π
I thought about you last weekend when I was amid cows π when I found a farm selling raw milk. I stopped to get some, and as it was being pumped into my bottle, I wondered if the vending machine was attached to the cow standing outside ππ. There was a gaggle of people watching so β¦ π. Iβd like to think so π₯°. Lovely stuffππ₯
Ah wow that's brilliant. We drink raw milk but can't sell it raw as we are always down with TB here in Wales sadly. Like the thought of the cow pumping straight into the vending machine π
Great story, made me smile - very impressive run ππ
