So I have less than 8 weeks to go now until the Hackney Half. I ran 8 miles on the treadmill last week having been on holiday to Sevilla, part holiday and part watching the mighty West Ham United. I had already suffered a twisted ankle from playing football and have now got a slight calf strain from playing on Sunday. So it’s official, playing football wreaks havoc on my HM training. I should be running a 15K on Sunday, which I may have to bring forward (once the calf strain has improved) to either Thursday or Friday. I am gagging to run around Regents Park and get that 15K under my belt but as I know indoor running is easier than outdoor. I haven’t run outdoors at all since the London 10K in February and before that the HM last September. I’ve also stupidly booked my trip to Lyon on 12th August (yes once again to watch the mighty West Ham), the date of my hospital appointment for my double hernia.
Not really helping myself am I…

My husband has constantly battled with lung and back issues, now overweight issues, but he plays footy three times a week. It’s what makes life worth living he says 😀⚽️
Up the ‘ammers! ⚽️🍻. If I go “away” with the footy I always try and fit a run or two in. I’m off to Torquay soon (following the footy) so can’t wait to run some hills there.
I’m relieved to hear you got a surgery date! Hopefully you’ll be running like a new man soon 🙂👍🏃♂️
You’re a Torquay fan? Don’t have a surgery date yet, it’s just to see the consultant which I’ve had to now change to 26th July! But I’d prefer to have the op in the winter anyway.
