150 minutes cardio is the given amount to keep you fit, they say you can do two weight sessions per week as well but it's not necessary.

So you are doing OK with just the running I think.

If you are bored with the gym why not try to do things at home..

Push ups, squats etc, you could probably get a good enough workout in about 30 minutes.

Yes! Check out the Strength & Flex forum - plenty of ideas are being posted on there:

I like to do some strength work and yoga, as well as running. I like lifting weights - nothing serious mind you, just hand weights, as my shoulders and biceps get stiff from walking the pully dog.

It’s all about balance, so I think doing other exercise to support your running is a good idea I walk everywhere and I class that as cross-training 🙂

It depends on whether you’re training for anything or not?

I have strength training once a week (kettlebells) and yoga once a week. On top of that, one of my runs is a speedwork session.

I’m currently doing about 28miles a week running but will peak at about 38 miles before tapering for my target marathon in 1/3/19.

So how much strength & core work you do depends on what your running goals are?
