I haven’t been on here for a while and I’m afraid I’ve rather let the running go over the last couple of months. Originally I was training for the Hackney Half Marathon but that got postponed until September. I fully intended on keeping going with the running but my old hamstring injury flared up again after playing football and I swapped running for the gym.
I’m intending on starting my regime again tomorrow. I’m not very fit at the moment and carrying a bit of weight again as my diet has gone a bit to pot. I really need some help and advice on both diet and running regime. I want to do a 12 week running plan but I know it’s no use just running, I need to address my diet too. Bearing in mind I’ve not been eating very well I need to build both fitness and weight loss. All advice gratefully received.
Thanks.

I think the key would be to ease back into it slowly to avoid injury. Maybe go with an HM plan that uses a 3 run day model (vs a 4 or 5 day). This all would depend on how far you can currently run. If you’re not sure then maybe see how an easy 5k feels and go from there.
I’m going to have a stab at 10K tomorrow. I’ll be able to do 5K but I’m going to run stupidly slowly so I can get close to the distance. Do you have any links to plans?
