I missed a couple of runs recently due to a virus, so made the decision not to do a local 10k event today (returned to my running last Wednesday). Instead I opted for a 7k on the trails, reckoning that the shade would be beneficial, given how warm it has been. I always find it takes me a bit of time to get used to the heat as the temperatures rise!๐ฅต
It was certainly warming up by the time I got out but I slowed things down and the heat was...okay.
However, I soon realised that I was probably still recovering from Fridays gym session, as my legs really didnโt feel up to much! I guess this was to be expected really, as it was my first time in the gym for 20 years!๐๏ธโโ๏ธ๐คฃ I loved my time there and am planning to incorporate it in to my exercise schedule with the hope that it will benefit my running. ๐คToday however, I just felt my tired quads, which made the run feel like a bit of a slog! Of course, maybe it was just one of those runs! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Never mind, onwards and upwardsโฆand run complete. Hereโs hoping that we now get a few slightly cooler days before the inevitable heat of the summer! ๐
