My 5k PB whoop whoop.

Even though I’ve run a half marathon , many 10 milers and numerous 10ks today I am absolutely buzzing from my recent 5km.

I started at about 42 mins 18months, got it down to 38mjns. Now run around a 35 but had a 32.09 PB. OMG yesterday I was feeling tired from 5 days of exercise but I still wanted to run , so I got hubby to drop me off 3 miles from home , that I knew was mostly down hill. I put my rucksack on, as I was going to have a pootle, stop for drinks and photos , as it’s through a nature reserve. I also had my audio book on. All set for a nice slow one.

After about 4 or 5 minutes I realised I was running less than 10minutes Mile pace quite comfortably. This continued past the first mile . So I decided to go for it. I obviously wasn’t as tired as I thought.

I achieved a 30min18sec PB according to my garmin, 30min40secs according to strava. BUT I am buzzing .

Ice always thought that elusive sub 30 was never for me but now I feel it’s within touching distance, with the right conditions on the right day who knows.

One very happy runner .

That's so great! I think I can understand the feeling. I've been chasing a sub 30 for years, so I know how frustrating it is. I hope you celebrated properly.
