I haven’t done a fast timed 10 mile run since Vale of York race April 2019 and I know I’ve improved a lot since then. Today I ran the tortilla chip shaped route with my friend from club who is much faster than me so I had to slow him down 🤣 It was a nice chatty social run but I still managed to take well over 3 minutes off my time so I am pleased with that. Especially since I could’ve gone faster. My friend said I’m not allowed it as a PB as after half a mile he stopped for a toilet break 🙄🤣 But that was his fault not mine and we’d only just started, not like a I was dying near the end or anything. I’m taking it. Kind of.

Now that's proper hardcore weekend Running Tasha 💪

Oh my, that is fast!! Very well done 👍

Take it! It's undeniably yours. Nice run!!! I'm trying to think why I know Eaglescliffe (pronounced without the 'a' or am I making that up?)... it's going to bug me 😂 I think it must be from when I worked up on Teeside, maybe we stayed there ... off to Eaglescliffe Google hotels 😂😂
There’s Eagles 🦅 cliffe and Egglescliffe (within it really). Oh do let me know! It’s the home of my running club - orchard eagles running club
I can't see any hotels ... so I maybe drove through there on the way to Teeside, or perhaps one of my colleagues lived there ... It's a long time ago (over 25 years) so recollections are very hazy. One thing's for sure, I'd never run a step I hadn't been told to, nor even contemplated the idea!!!
There’s the parkmore in eaglescliffe. Whereabouts in Teesside did you work? Although it is in Teesside actually 🤣
Oops, sorry! I worked for BASF and we had taken over part of an ICI business at Seal Sands - plastics manufacture (although I understand it may be closing down now?). I was up there on and off for months sorting out the IT transfer. There was a fair bit of alcohol consumed back in the day which may be adding to my hazy recollections!!!
Aha! I think you did tell me this before actually! I knew a couple people who worked there! I bet you even met them! It’s a small world 🌎
Amazing. I've been studying google maps to see if any place names ring a bell. I stayed away for acquisition work in all sorts of places so do get confused, but I think the one up there was essentially a pub on a fairly main road, that had rooms in the main building but also had added on a lot of rooms. The food was good, it was clean and the bar was friendly - and compared to the south, drinks were cheap 😀 What's not to like 😎
If you were busy eating out/consuming alcohol I bet you were driven through Egglescliffe & Eaglescliffe to Yarm High Street!! 😁
Maybe! I had to put my laptop down last night as it was driving me crazy!!! I thought I'd found it in the Stockton Arms, but the front of the building didn't look right ... ahh well!
Have you looked at the parkmore?
Yes - it definitely wasn't a 'proper hotel' like that - the interior was much more like the Stockton Arms (and the name of that definitely rings a bell), and had newly built block of adjoining rooms as well (although it was always nicer to be in the original building).

Of course it counts as a Pb; would have been faster if he hadn’t slowed you down. Leave him behind next time!! 😂

Amazing time, well done!!!
Definitely take that PB Tasha - that’s quite some “nice, social chatty run”. 👍🏻👏👏👏😄

Works for me. You were stopped by circumstances out of your control half a mile into a ten mile run.
Cheers!
(My Strava is private I’m afraid - it gives me too much anxiety 😶🤣)

I’d definitely count that as a PB Tasha99! 🥇 After all, it wasn’t you that needed the loo break!
Congratulations on your 10 mile PB 👏👏 Time for a celebration I think!🥳🥂🎉

Great time, great HR 👏...PBs are few and far between, enjoy it 😊

Fab run Tasha99 , and definitely take that PB!

You should definitely take it as a PB Tasha, a brilliant time. UpTheStanley always says I shouldn’t pause my watch if I pop to the loo, but I do, even though I know it can’t happen in a real timed race.

Well done Tasha, great running 👏👏

A nice chatty social run at that pace. Don’t think I’d have been able to speak at all. Fab run! Definitely leave him behind next time 😂
