OK, not actually icy at all of course, because it's summer. Indeed, it's rather lovely here in Reykjavik! Forgot to put myself in the diary but I've been looking forward to the half marathon here for a good while π Here's my flatlay!
I prepared today by seeing loads of cool stuff on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, going to the running expo and picking up more freebies than I was probably allowed, and eating a massive bowl of soup in a bread bowl the size of my head for dinner (and then naturally eating the bowl too) π

Ooh! Your flat Sqkr is very lovely and colour coordinated. Even the bib. The soup and bowl sounds wonderful. Good luck on your half marathon! What a great place to do one. I canβt wait to read your run report. ππͺ
Good luck lovely! I was there two years ago after 10 days in Iceland - end of October beginning of November, no snow but pretty cold by then. Enjoy. Look forward to reading the report xx
Good luck Sqkr! What a fabulous place for a HM! Canβt wait to read all about it. π
Iβve had one of those bread bowls. πππ We lived in New England and theyβd serve clam chowder in them. And yes, it was the law to eat the bowl afterwards! π
Thanks all! The running report is in my head, I've got as far as thinking of a title... I thought of that halfway round the course π Will put some words up ASAP! It was cracking though, I absolutely loved it. What a perfect city and a lovely run. 100% recommend!
Macmac indeed you do! Having started my running life as an absolute purist, it turns out I absolutely love an edible pep! They're not bad at all, I think I'll buy them again. I like how the minty ones also freshen your mouth a bit too. The downside is that they're a bit fiddly to open if you carry a phone, as I do. I ended up dropping the phone, doing a loud swear and stopping abruptly, nearly tripping some poor man up. My Icelandic is minimal so I failed at 'sorry' and said 'thank you' instead, and probably looked utterly mad. So there's a cautionary tale if you do try them out!
