Chilly and wet today. Sooo much easier to keep my heart rate down. I didn’t exceed the bpm for the zones during the first 13 minutes, even though I was running faster today. Chest is congested, so the intervals were hard. I realise now that the bull at a gate approach to intervals might not be the best (max pace 3.26min/km for goodness sake! I was never going to be able to keep that up for long). Next time I will ease into it and increase speed over the four minute intervals.
I also realise that the reason I can’t run fast for long is that I’m literally coughing up gunk from my chest. I just can’t breathe properly. The moment I increase my pace into zones 4/5 I’m really out of breath and feel as if I can’t go any faster. As long as we have the Dennis dog that’s going to be the case, and he’s only ten ... It’s always okay if I’m away from the house for a few hours.
I’m seriously considering getting a hoof pick for my On running shoes 😂
Well done Flick... this is so good, and the rain will help, ( even though you love the heat) I am finding the 'thick' air makes running/breathing harder and I do not have the dog!
No rain here, but the breeze has dropped, so it is very pleasantly warm at the moment
Hi Floss, thank you 😊❤️ I’ve had a coffee and a bath with Badedas (still no horseman!) and Epsom salts and am literally buzzing with energy and well being. I know from experience that in an hour or two I will get the shakes and need carbs, so I’m about to eat a naked bar.
I do indeed love the heat, but I have to admit heart rate training is a heck of a lot easier when it’s cooler! Xxx
