Things are hotting up: 3 lots of 5minutes in zones 4/5 interspersed with zone 3. All done on less than optimal sleep this morning, but way easier than a few weeks ago. It’s getting easier to bring my heart rate down too, though I didn’t manage it for the cool down at the end. VO2 Max is 35, which is extremely good for my age and gender, so I’m pleased with that. My heart rate zones are pretty much where they should be now I think, so the VO2 Max is probably as accurate as it can be without proper testing under lab conditions. My pace is still a lot slower than this time last year. Maybe I have to accept I’m a year older at a time in life when things slow down, but on the other hand I’m fitter, so I don’t really understand it.

As long as you enjoyed your run today Flick, that is the main thing, I think I would need a degree in physics from Oxford University to fully understand that graph, it looks very complicated to me, but I am sure you understand every bit of it. 😊

I enjoy every run. I have a passion for running. Stuff like training and races are peripheral.
The heart rate graph is easy to understand. Heart rate for sports is divided into zones with beats per minute increasing as you go from zone one to zone five. They increase in difficulty too so that zone five is maximum effort. But you know this! 😊❤️
