Runtastic without the Internet

For some reason I can't log in to Runtastic unless I have an Internet connection. Don't remember having this problem before. Have I got the wrong version of Runtastic? It's very frustrating. Don't have this issue with Strava.

You should be able to track your runs without connecting to the internet, but I would have thought that it is only possible to log in to your account on desktop/laptop with an internet connection. You would need a connection to set up the app and log in on your mobile device - then it should remain open so you can record runs. It would need to be connected to the internet to upload the runs to your account. If the app's not working properly the best advice would probably be to uninstall then reinstall.

But what's actually going wrong?

Every time I log in it says no Internet connection but never had that before. Just logged onto the app and was ready to go.

Yes. Habit. Not bothering now. Just concerned about it draining the battery. Going to use it for my long run tomorrow as it tells you when you have done a mile etc so quite handy on a long run.

Should be fine to stay logged in. You can still run GPS in 'aeroplane mode' to help preserve battery life xx

Thanks Roseabi. Got a long run planned for tomorrow morning early so depending on how long it takes me hopefully I'll be back to go swimming

Have you got the app set to use mobile data? You might have it set to only work with an internet connection. Look in settings and find the app. You should be able to see ‘use mobile data’ or something.

No. Have looked in settings but can't see anything about changing the set up. Have I got the wrong version?
